Welcome to our website!
Richborough is bringing forward plans for up to 110 new homes on this 14-acre site off Salford Road in Bidford-on-Avon, including 43 affordable homes for local families.
We've now submitted our planning application (25/00415/OUT) to Stratford-upon-Avon District Council. Thank you to everyone who took part in our public consultation between 19th November and 3rd December 2024 - your feedback has helped shape our proposals.
Our plans have been designed to reflect and respect the local character of Bidford-on-Avon, and include public open spaces, children's play areas, and areas dedicated to enhancing local wildlife and ecology.
On this website you can find more detail about the proposals and read our handy FAQs.
Why does Bidford need new homes?
Providing new homes is important not only locally but nationally. It gives people a place to live for themselves and their families. It also helps support the local economy and can provide new infrastructure and open spaces for the local community. In the local area, our proposals will help the delivery of new homes to achieve the five-year supply of housing that the Council is required to have. Bidford’s status as a ‘Main Rural Centre’ in Stratford-on-Avon’s Core Strategy represents an opportunity for us to deliver housing in a sustainable location which has good access to a range of local services and facilities.
What is an outline planning application?
An outline planning application agrees the principle of development on a site and will seek to demonstrate how the proposed development can be integrated into the existing community with no significant impact on the existing settlement. If an outline planning application is granted planning permission, this must be followed by a reserved matters planning application, which must also receive its own planning permission. This will contain the detailed aspect of the design of the new homes and final layout.
